Finding the right counselor for yourself or your child is an extremely important part of the therapeutic process. Aldina’s compassion, empathy, and approachability will help you and your family feel comfortable and safe from the start. It is important to Aldina to establish a trusting rapport and sense of warmth with clients to make this experience a positive one. Aldina enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults to increase their confidence in their ability to cope with life’s struggles and transitions in order to improve their quality of life.
Aldina incorporates a variety of therapeutic practices to help her clients because the process should be tailored to best fit the individual. When working with children, Aldina enjoys utilizing play therapy techniques to help them feel more at ease. Children can have a difficult time using language instead of their bodies to express intense emotions, so games and art can be beneficial to help them learn important skills. When working with teens and adults, Aldina incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy skills with a focus on providing nonjudgmental support.
Aldina’s specialties include:
- social anxiety
- school issues
- attention/behavioral issue
- life transitions
- divorce reaction
- healthy relationships and friendships
Aldina earned her Master’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Aldina worked at a nonprofit agency providing in-home support for families, and went on to provide services in an outpatient clinic.
