Paige Beattie, MSW, APSW

Making a positive change for yourself and your family starts with therapy. The time is now to put you and your family first to boost your mental health and healthy lifestyle. My goal is to allow individuals to heal and to begin the process necessary to lead healthy lifestyles. The ability to provide clients with the sense of security and belonging drives my passion and heart in the right path in the commitment to building trust and respect necessary for my clients to grow and develop the skills necessary to make health and successful life choices. I strive to assist my clients, who include children, adolescents, and adults, to find themselves and develop healthy coping skills. Providing that safe place where clients and their families can express themselves is crucial when it comes to providing that support and warmth necessary to bring client’s strengths to light when facing difficulties in their lives.

I find myself with more enthusiasm when I provide therapy for children and adolescents along with support from family members. I utilize the strengths based perspective and pair this perspective with families to facilitate healthy development and healing. Emotions can be challenging to manage and understand. It is essential for children and adolescents to develop distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and mindfulness to begin to better express themselves and to handle their emotions in a more effective manner. Being able to cope through distressing emotions will allow children and adolescents to feel the sense of control and will allow them to develop life-long skills.

Parents play an essential role in the supportive environment that children and adolescents need in order to develop the healthy coping skills to manage emotions. I will provide guidance for parents to allow the help necessary for when their children are at home. This guidance allows for much needed support and validation when handling sometimes difficult or confusing challenges in your family. My goal is to provide a warm environment in order to allow family members and their children to communicate feelings and needs between them.

My main approach to therapy is empathetic, active listening, friendliness, and open-mindness. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) also play a significant role in my approach as a therapist. I tend to meet clients where they are at and allow them to develop healthy habits and skills when they are ready and comfortable.

My Specialties and Skills include:

  • Adolescent and child behavioral and emotional issues
  • School issues
  • Family Therapy Illness/grief/loss
  • Self-esteem
  • Couples counseling and communication skills training
  • Adjustment to life transitions
