Heidi brings over 20 years of post-graduate experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, schools, and community programs. With a career rooted in compassion and dedication, Heidi has supported children and families through medical challenges, emotional distress, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions,
always with a focus on resilience and connection. Heidi earned her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and received specialized training in systems therapy. Her approach is grounded in family systems thinking, which emphasizes the importance of relationships and environment in a child’s emotional and behavioral development. Whether working with individuals or whole families, Heidi’s work is deeply relational, collaborative, and strengths based. She is also a Registered Wonders & Worries Provider, trained to support children and teens navigating a parent’s or caregiver’s serious illness. Over the years, Heidi has developed a particular passion and expertise in working with:
- Hospitalized children, adults and their families navigating illness, trauma and grief
- Children and adolescents experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties
- School-aged children needing support with social-emotional learning, stress tolerance,
and communication skills - Families seeking tools for stronger connection and more effective communication
- Coping strategies for children with chronic or acute health conditions
Heidi is known for her warm, empathic presence and her ability to meet children and families where they are. She takes care to create a safe, supportive space where children and families feel heard and empowered. Her goal is always to build on a child’s existing strengths while helping them develop tools to face life’s challenges with confidence and emotional awareness.
In joining the practice, Heidi is excited to bring her experience into the school and clinic setting, offering care that is both responsive and personalized. She works in close collaboration with families to create meaningful goals, foster healthy habits, and support positive outcomes.
