Build Emotional Resilience
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach designed to help individuals regulate emotions, improve relationships, and develop effective coping strategies. Originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD), DBT has since been widely applied to conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and emotional dysregulation.
DBT is built on four core components:
- Mindfulness – Cultivating present-moment awareness to reduce impulsivity and emotional reactivity.
- Distress Tolerance – Developing healthy ways to cope with challenging situations without resorting to harmful behaviors.
- Emotion Regulation – Understanding and managing emotions to reduce mood swings and increase emotional stability.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness – Strengthening communication skills to foster healthier relationships and set effective boundaries.
DBT is a structured, skills-based therapy typically conducted in weekly individual or group sessions. With a focus on practical application, clients learn to break destructive patterns and replace them with constructive, life-enhancing behaviors.
