Luke Marks, MS, LPC-IT
Practices in Menomonee Falls and Waukesha

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Training (LPC-IT) and I graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Before joining CPA, I had years of experience as an educator in schools and as a special education aide. I also interned and worked as a school counselor and as a wrestling coach. My experiences helped me adopt an empathetic and encouraging approach to counseling and believe everyone has hidden strengths and resiliency. However, I understand that resiliency can be difficult to build upon at times, whether due to circumstances or heavy emotions. My hope is that we can overcome those difficulties together.

My counseling practice involves using approaches such as Person-Centered Theory (PC), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These theories have helped me build my counseling values and goals.

(1) One goal of mine is to create a safe space where we can explore your story and write your next chapter. What difficulties are you experiencing right now? What have been some setbacks in your life, what have been your triumphs? What are your motivations and goals? What do you enjoy in life, what do you value? In hearing your story, I take an empathetic, non-judgmental, and non-directive approach.

(2) My goal is to support you in gaining a greater awareness of your emotions and thoughts. Our emotions and thoughts, when they are processed rather than avoided or controlled, can tell us more about our inner motivations and values.

(3) When ready, we can explore your ideal future and possible goals to help you get there and go slow in making change(s). I believe that taking small steps in a positive direction can have a snowball effect. And though there may be some ups and downs, I’ll support you in every step. Overall, I hope these conversations lead to self-discovery and a vision of where you want to go.
